ND Awards 2017 – Selected Winners

Our favourite images from the ND Awards 2017.

ND (Neutral Density) has announced the winners of their international photography contest. The judges reviewed 6 849 entries submitted from 89 countries.

Francesco Pistilli (Italy) is this year’s overall winner of Professional category with the title: ND Photographer of The Year 2017.

In the Non Professional category Eriko Kaniwa (Japan) won the title ND Discovery Of The Year 2017.

The Professional category winners were: Friederike Brandenburg (Germany) in Architecture, Francesco Pistilli (Italy) in Editorial, Javiera Estrada (United States) in Fine Art, Yi Sun (United Kingdom) in Nature, Boy Surminski (Netherlands) in People and Cristina Vatielli (Italy) in Special category.

The 5 Non-Professional category winners were Alexander Schönberg (Germany) in Architecture, Eriko Kaniwa (Japan) in Fine Art, Davide Cassinari (France) in Nature, Tasos Anestis (France) in People and Emanuele Vitale(Italy) in Special category.

ND Awards aim to promote photography and photographers. Their goal is to create new opportunities to present the best in contemporary photography to their audience around the world, building a platform where photographers can present their diverse points of view.

Franceso Pistilli

Francesco Pistilli, Lives in Limbo. In derelict warehouses behind Belgrade’s main bus station, up to 1500 migrants are trying to survive the freezing Serbian winter in crumbling buildings with broken windows, no electricity, no heating, or water. They are stuck in a “sub-zero” Limbo, waiting for a new life in Europe.
