TJ Tambellini Finds Hyperreal Abstractions in Everyday LA Landscapes

With an eye for sculptural compositions and a passion for photography, Los Angeles based artist TJ Tambellini has been building an impressive collection of images that capture the hyperreal quality of the everyday through abstract observations. He works with structure, vivid complimenting palates, and framing, all while revealing understated moments in the man-made and repetitive, overly familiar landscape. Radiant colours, contrasting textures and sharp abstractions coalesce in beautifully cropped close-ups, finding beauty in the smallest of details.

TJ Tambellini was raised in South Florida, spent many years in Chicago, and now lives and works in Los Angeles, California. His work has been exhibited in galleries in Los Angeles, and he has been published and featured in It’s Nice That, This is Paper, Latent Image, Pitch Zine, Paper Journal, and more. His first book ‘Court Yard’ was recently released by the London based publisher, Kiosk.
