CityLiveSketch by Pietro Cataudella are a series of delightfully detailed black and white drawings of urban landscapes that blend 2D and 3D into one frame.
The particularity of these photos is that the central subject of the photography is always the sketchbook, on which the scenes and landscapes are carefully drawn. In this way the black and white sketches are framed by the natural colors of the represented area. CityLiveSketch was born from the combined pursuit of Pietro Cataudella’s creative passions: photography, drawing and travel. His pen and notebook follow him everywhere- from travels around the country to walks and excursions around his hometown.
“The goal of my project is showing the beauty of Italy in an alternative way and letting people discover places more or less known, from big cities to small towns full of history, art and traditions. Thanks to this project I hope to travel even more and discover new places to share with my followers.”
Pietro Cataudella is an Italian university student studying Geophysics. Surprisingly, his artistry self taught and he never studied architecture nor drawing.
“My ability to draw and to reproduce a landscape or a building comes from passion, practice and the desire to improve myself.”
