Alexander Coggin is an American self taught artist and photographer based between London and Berlin. Formally trained in theater, Coggin’s work is infused with a detailed sensitivity to cinematic compositions, visceral imagery, and sociologically curious observations of human behaviour. His gaze and his hand-flash gravitate towards the hyper-glossy world of the wealthy, where aesthetic beauty takes priority. Here Coggin captures a wonderful contrast between the candid weirdness of his photographic subjects and the highly-staged appearance of their surroundings.
Alexander Coggin is represented in the U.K. by Making Pictures.
