LS VIII is the latest series in a breathtaking collection of prints by Luca Tombolini, a self taught photographer from Milan. Specialized in fine art landscape photography, Luca uses large format cameras to capture the dreamy scenes he encounters in his explorations of the great outdoors, translating the images onto large scale prints through drum scanning. His artistic practice is a meditative inquiry into the link between landscape and Unconscious, looking to spaces devoid of human presence as a means of reflecting on one’s own existence.
“The dawn of mankind, a time with no rationality. An ancestor contemplating the cosmos perceives the necessity of a divinity. The Second Cosmogony takes place along with the miracle of self- thinking consciousness. In that moment he knows he exists for a reason; he’s got the significative element and this had found a way to reveal itself to him. Conscious and Unconscious come together in the creation of the Self.”
The following images are 100×133 cm, Lightjet prints from 4x5in negative drum scanned, on photographic paper. For prices and availabilities contact firstname.lastname@example.org
