Still life is a piece that works as a visual and sonic palate cleanser. It is an enquiry into our over-saturated, digital surroundings, and at the same time it is an opportunity to briefly cut off our connection to it.
Alessia Stranieri is an Italian photographer and videographer, based in Rome. Her approach to visual arts is bound to geometry and basic shapes, statuary poses, simple and scarce colors. Her work with still life photography and portraiture expose the materiality of these shapes through the use of texture, refraction, and viscosity.
